Betting Prediction:
The St. Louis Battlehawks will be interesting to watch mainly because of Christine Michael. He was always expected to break out and have a good career in the NFL but that never happened. The Seattle Seahawks drafted him in 2013 in the second round and he had 256 carries for 7 touchdowns. He still has some legs in him because he was not used that much and he also had stints with other teams before finally getting thrown out of the league. Jordan Ta’amu will be the starting QB for the BattleHawks. He is a very interesting story as he had a great college career. Then, he went undrafted to the Houston Texans who later released him.
It is certainly more interesting over to the Dallas squad. Safety Derron Smith was drafted by the Bengals in 2015 out of Fresno State but he could not find his place before getting a job in the AAF. He was a great fit for San Antonio there and he seems to have gotten used to these type of leagues. He is an interception machine and I won’t be surprised if he has one on Sunday. Probably, the biggest and most recognizable name in the XFL is Landry Jones. At one point, he was thought that he will be able to replace Ben Roethlisberger but things did not go to plan. He completed 108 out of 169 passing attempts for 1310 yards, 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
The 9.5-point spread is big. I really doubt that they will be able to cover it mainly because Christine Michael will keep the ball away from them and control the clock. Ta’amu should not be underestimated as well.
