The Washington Nationals trailed by 3-1 in their wild-card game but then managed to win it 4-3. Patrick Corbin will start in this one and in my opinion, he is not their best pitcher. He has a 3.25 ERA in 33 starts this year but he rarely has respectable Septembers and Octobers- he is 5-9 during those months in his career. The Nationals’ offense is solid, ranked 6th in the league and averaging 5.39 runs per game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing their best baseball at the moment. Dodgers‘ nation think that the time for them has finally arrived. The team has won 8 games in a row while in the last 4, they allowed just 2 runs. This is a very experienced squad that will not easily be intimidated. They also have the best staff ERA in the entire league. The pitching roster looks great and whoever starts in this series will be better than the opposition’s pitcher.
Even though the Nationals have won their last 9 games in a row, I think that they will be fatigued after playing on Tuesday. The Dodgers clearly have better talent on their side and I think that they will cover the spread.
