The Georgia State Panthers started the season very inconsistently. They began the season with a narrow win over Kennesaw State by 24-20 before losing their next three games. Last week, they blew the underdog UL Monroe out by 46-14. Seth Page had an incredible game with 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Overall, they ran for 308 yards on the ground but they are still ranked 9th in the nation in that category. Quarterback Dan Ellington completes 65.1% of his passes for 952 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Troy began the season with a loss to Boise State but after that they responded with 4 consecutive wins, outscoring their opponents by 22.3 points per game. The Trojans beat Coastal Carolina by 45-21 last week, outscoring them by 463-317 total yards. Their running game was in rhythm as they rushed for 282 yards which was good for 9.1 yards per carry. Kaleb Barker has had a decent year so far as he has hit 71.6% of his passes for 877 yards with eight TDs and just two INTs. Their run defense is solid and it will be put to test but I think they can deliver.
