Wyoming is 1-1 after falling to Nevada in week 1 and then, beating Hawaii in week 2. The win over Hawaii was a bit surprising but what was most surprising was the fashion in which they got it. The Cowboys did not have to pass the football and QB Levi Williams finished with just 18 passing attempts, completed 9 of them, and had 112 passing yards. The impressive thing, however, happened on the ground where RB Xazavian Valladay finished with 163 yards and 2 touchdowns on 32 carries.
Colorado State is 0-1 after losing to Fresno State 38-17. The defense had trouble stopping both the passing game and the run. QB Todd Centeio completed just 43% of his throws for 141 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 picks. He was also the team’s leading rusher with 80 yards on 13 carries. The Rams really need some help outside of Centeio if they are to start winning games.
I expect Wyoming to continue to run the football against a team that struggled with containing that last week as they allowed Fresno State to control the clock. If Wyoming manages to do the same thing, they can run away with the win from Colorado.
