Western Kentucky got into some rhythm towards the end of the season, winning 3 straight games and that won them a bowl appearance. Their offense is struggling big time, scoring just 18.8 points per game with 162.9 passing yards and 128 rushing yards. They are almost dead last in every category on offense but the defense is something else. It is allowing just 24 points per game, having in mind that it has to perform every minute or so because the offense can’t stay on the field.
On the other side, Georgia State is the exact opposite. They are a great offensive team that lives and dies by the points scored. The Panthers are averaging 36.8 points per game with QB Cournelious Brown running the show. He is completing 59.1% of his passes for 2046 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. The rushing game looks oiled as they already have two players with over 400 yards.
As always, the better offensive team is favored here and this is Georgia State. We tend to forget, however, that they were smashed by Coastal Carolina(another team with a great defense) 51-0. Now, I do not expect this to happen again but it showed us that the Panthers are vulnerable when playing against a decent D and they can’t score.
