UL Lafayette is ranked 19th in the country and the team conceded just one loss- against Coastal Carolina early in the year. As the season progressed, we saw what a great defense Coastal Carolina has and this loss was no surprise. Still, the Ragin’ Cajuns scored 27 points against this side and this is utterly impressive. Their defense is also top-notch, allowing just around 21.8 points per game.
The UTSA Roadrunners have similar stats but they are not as nearly as good on defense as the Cajuns. UTSA are allowing 25.2 points per game and already showed us that they are vulnerable to the running game. On offense, though, they like to pound the football, and RB Sincere McCormick is averaging over 100 rushing yards and 1 touchdown per game. QB Frank Harris is helping him a lot on that offensive front with his 437 rushing yards overall and 8 touchdowns.
Even though the Ragin Cajuns’ are the much better team and will win this game, I doubt that they will be able to cover. We already saw how uncomfortable they are when their opponents are running the football and UTSA will exploit this. The Roadrunners will keep it close and won’t lose by 2 touchdowns.
