In MLB World Series Game 2, we will see Washington Nationals (S. Strasburg -R) at Houston Astros (J. Verlander -R).
Betting Prediction:
In game 1, the Houston Astros took an early lead but then the Nationals overcame the deficit and managed to make a comeback, in order to secure a 5-4 victory. Stephen Strasburg will start for Washington on Wednesday. During the postseason, he allowed just 4 runs and forced 33 strike outs in 22 innings. The 31-year old Strasburg should be in his A game against a very strong opponent.
Justin Verlander is going for another big postseason game. He is probably the guy, along with Clayton Kershaw, that has the most experience in the league. Verlander must be able to slow down Soto‘s production, especially since Houston has struggled with runners in scoring position lately. Cole had many mistakes in game 1 and if Verlander does not repeat them, he will be in for a great evening at home.
Strasburg’s 4.36 first inning ERA is just awful. Houston should take advantage of this in the first quarter and get the early lead like they did in game 1. I believe in the Astros’ unit. They should be able to bounce back after a disappointing performance in game 1 and tie the series before flying to Washington.
