Betting Prediction:
The Houston Roughnecks seem to be one of the best units in the entire league. Mainly because of the great numbers P.J. Walker is putting this season, they are seen as a serious contender. From the two games played so far, Walker has completed 62% of his throws for 442 yards, 7 touchdowns and 1 interception. Cam Phillips has been terrific as a wideout, catching 12 balls from 18 targets for 130 yards and 4 touchdowns. We can ask more from the running game as James Butler has just 58 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries but this is not felt at all by the offense.
The Tampa Bay Vipers have a real problem at hand. They still cannot figure out the quarterback picture with Aaron Murray starting in week 1 and finishing the game with 231 yards and 2 interceptions. He was injured and therefore replaced by Cornelius who did not do any better. He finished the second game with 154 passing yards and 2 interceptions. The third-string QB Flowers also had the chance to showcase his talent but he only added an interception. All in all, the Vipers’ QBs have 5 interceptions and 0 touchdowns in 2 games so far.
It would be blasphemous if I decide to bet against Houston in week 3. They haven’t shown any signs of slowing down and I would bet for them until I see such. Expect Walker to have another big game against a side that can’t move the chains at all.
