This is an interesting start to the season. Both teams have new QBs, and it’s always exciting to see them in action. However, we won’t see QB Deshaun Watson in play for the Browns as he is suspended for the first 11 games of this season. Jacoby Brissett will get the nod and start for Cleveland. The Browns continue to have one of the best defenses in football. Their only question mark is on offense where they are expected to run the football predominantly.
The Carolina Panthers will start the ex-Cleveland star QB, Baker Mayfield. He received a lot of attention while being in Cleveland, but the attention was for all the wrong reasons. Mayfield will play with a chip on his shoulder this season as he has a lot to prove. RB Christian McCaffrey is healthy and will start the season. He is always a threat and when he played last year, the Panthers were actually a good team.
Carolina started last season with 3 consecutive wins mainly because their defense was great, and McCaffrey was playing. These are all prerequisites for another great start of the season as the Browns will face difficulties on the road again. They won just 2 games on the road last year.
