The Washington Nationals managed to beat the Houston Astros on the road twice already and they are just 2 more wins away from clinching the title. The Nationals made comebacks in both fixtures, including an impressive one in game 2, 12-3. Anibal Sanchez hasn’t pitched at all for his team since the 11th of October when he had an amazing performance against the Cardinals. He threw in 7.2 innings, allowing just one hit, no runs and striking out 5 batters.
The Houston Astros started both games very well but the starting pitchers and the bullpen could not resist the pressure in the late innings. The newly added Zack Greinke will start game 3 for the Astros with a very tough task. A loss will probably mean an end of their season. In the postseason, Greinke has thrown 14 innings, allowing ten earned runs behind five homers.
Greinke has been inconsistent this postseason. Even though I understand that the Astros will be the more motivated team, I also believe that the Nationals have their number and it will be almost impossible to stop them.
