Last year, William & Mary Tribe finished 4-6 and they suffered huge losses against the leading FCS teams and we do not even need to mention the games they played against NCAA squads. The team, however, started the 2019 season really well with a 30-17 win over Lafayette. They played 3 quarterbacks in the game and combined, they completed 50% of their throws for 163 passing yards and 0 touchdowns. The ground game, however, was on point and there were 9 guys rushing for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Virginia started the season with a solid 30-14 win over Pittsburgh. QB Bryce Perkins completed 58% of his throws for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns while Wayne Taulapapa had 10 carries for 66 rushing yards and a touchdown. The defense also showed up and it gave up just 14 points to a very good Pittsburgh offense and forced two turnovers.
Virginia is by far the better side and having in mind that they won’t need to rest anybody because their next few games are also against much weaker sides, I will expect them to make a blowout. The Tribe are very inconsistent team that will certainly have at least 2 interceptions in the game and the Virginia defense will benefit from it.
