Utah is a team that is coming together in recent weeks. They extended their winning streak to 3 after beating Southern Cal by 41-28. Tyler Huntley threw for 341 yards with 4 touchdowns on 22 of 29 passing last week. HB Zack Moss also played an important role in the win, going for 136 yards on 25 carries.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson landed awkwardly last week when taking a sack against Arizona in the first half. UCLA managed to get the victory even without him by 31-30. Wilton Speight replaced him very well since he threw for 204 yards on 17 of 27 passing. Joshua Kelley is playing better and better, becoming the first UCLA player to rush for at least 100 yards four times in a row since Tyler Ebell in 2002. It is still questionable if Thompson-Robinson will start the game but even if he doesn’t, I believe that Speight can do the job.
Utah has the best defense in the Pac-12 and they proved that by keeping the Trojans to just 205 yards. They are leading the nation in yards allowed against the run with 74.6 per game. I think that they can cover the spread easily given the fact that whoever quarterback plays against them, he won’t be 100% ready.
