Betting Prediction:
Rick Porcello will start his third game in this year’s playoffs for the Red Sox. He pitched in game 4 against the Astros but he allowed 4 runs in 4 innings, including 2 home runs. He has been used as a relieving pitcher this postseason but now he will get the chance to start. J.D. Martinez is having a tremendous series and the Dodgers will need to find a way to slow him down if they are to keep their chances after game 3.
Walker Buehler hasn’t been very consistent this postseason, however, he seems to be the better selection than Porcello. Overall, he conceded 10 runs in 16 innings with a 0-1 record but he pitched well in his last game against the Brewers when allowed 1 run with 7 strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Buehler was a strikeout machine all season and we’re expecting this to continue at least for a game, in order to help LA get the crucial W.
The Dodgers are a team that can get together in difficult situations and produce. Things can’t get any more difficult than this and Porcello looks like the guy they can finally have a breakthrough game offensively. I expect Buehler to have learned his lesson and provide good pitching, especially against Martinez.
