UCLA’s quarterback Josh Rosen is still out and we don’t know when he will come back from his injury. Mike Fafaul plays at his position right now and he is asked to do very much. We saw him last week when he had to throw the football 70 times and he completed 40 of those attempts. It resulted in 5 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Their running game still can’t be found and that’s why they count on the passes so much.
Colorado are a one-dimensional team on offense because they only run the ball. They were able to do so successfully against Stanford when Philipp Lindsay had 131 rushing yards and Kyle Evans came up with 60 more. Liufau had only 25 passing attempts and 12 successful, which is nothing compared to the 70 Fafaul threw. Their defense was also spectacular in their previous game when they didn’t allow many yards on the ground.
Colorado has great defensive ends that are able to go after the quarterback and stop the run but UCLA doesn’t run the ball at all. UCLA’s offense can still put a solid number of points against anybody simply because they only throw the ball.
