The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got back to winning records after beating the Vikings and the Falcons the last two weeks. They did not look convincing at all against both teams as Atlanta was playing without Julio Jones and the Bucs still gave up 163 receiving yards to WR Calvin Ridley. The Vikings, on the other side, were able to do damage on offense but their inability to get to the red zone was the difference maker there.
The Detroit Lions seem to have forfeited the season already, standing at 5-9. They lost 6 of their last 8 games and we can’t really say that they played elite teams only. They were shockingly shut down by the Panthers who are not famous for their great defense, smashed down by the Texans who are a mess right now, and beaten down by a Vikings team that is only rushing the football.
The Lions’ defense is the worst in the league, allowing 31.1 points per game and that is too much of a weakness when you’re playing against Tom Brady. This is exactly the type of game that Tampa needs as the Bucs will be able to score at will and gain some confidence before the playoffs.
