Super Bowl 54 Odds & Futures

AFC East

Again we have the New England Patriots with the best odds to win the Super Bowl for I don’t know how many consecutive years. The Pats have represented the AFC in 4 of the last 5 Super Bowls and they have only lost to Philadelphia in 2017 so it’s not surprise that they are Super Bowl odds favorites. The Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets barely improved their rosters and they are underdogs in the Super Bowl rankings. The Miami Dolphins are expected to finish with another 8-8ish record so their Super Bowl odds now are so high and the Patriots may be the only team from the AFC East which goes to the playoffs.

AFC North

The Cleveland Browns have Super Bowl betting odds of 15 which are the fifth-lowest ones. This is mainly due to the fact that they acquired Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be an interesting topic because they are entering life without Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. JuJu Smith-Schuster is there and most of the offense will go through his hands. The Steelers are at Super Bowl current odds 21 which make them a longshot favorite. We also have the Ravens with Super Bowl Odds line of 34 but the dysfunctional system for Lamar Jackson that we saw in the playoffs doesn’t give us big hopes for the upcoming season.

AFC South

Super Bowl odds checker show us that the Indianapolis Colts are the highest-ranked team out of this division mainly due to the fact that Andrew Luck has never had such a good defense on his side. We also shouldn’t neglect Super Bowl odds for each team at AFC South like Houston and Jacksonville who have odds of 34. They are very interesting teams with elite defenses and if they manage to put points on the board, they might surprise us throughout the playoffs with deep runs.

AFC West

This is again a tough and interesting AFC division with many contenders as Super Bowl odds in Vegas demonstrate. The Kansas City Chiefs have odds of 9 to win the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes had a spectacular MVP season last year and the offense is free-flowing when he is playing. The Los Angeles Chargers are my “dark horse” pick to win the Super Bowl. They have everything set up in place to win the Super Bowl. Philip Rivers is playing better than ever. Melvin Gordon is one of the best running backs in the NFL while Keenan Allen proved himself to be a top wide receiver. The Raiders will be an interesting story because they moved so many pieces in and out of the city while the Denver Broncos improved their quarterback spot with the signing of Joe Flacco but the offense still remains suspect.

The Philadelphia Eagles are again the favorites of this division to win the Super Bowl according to Super Bowl opening odds. Carson Wentz returns and if the offense gets going, we might be in for another 2017 season. The Dallas Cowboys decided to pay both Dak and Zeke and the duo will be there for the upcoming years. Amari Cooper also found his spot and managed to create a great bond with Prescott. The offense finally looks good and the defense is as good as last year. The Redskins and the Giants didn’t make any significant moves in the summer and we all expect them to struggle in this campaign and that’s why their Super Bowl odds today are so low.

The Green Bay Packers’ defense finally looks very good with the acquisition of Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, and Adrian Amos. Aaron Rodgers will have a great shot at a Super Bowl appearance that he’s never had even with Jordy Nelson (Super Bowl odds live of 21). The Chicago Bears have better chances according to the bookies with odds of 15. Mitch Trubisky looked good last year but I expect a hangover year for him and the defense will barely keep the same level of intensity to keep him in games. The Minnesota Vikings expect Kirk Cousins to level up his game and they can also become a “dark horse” pick to win the Super Bowl but this is too long of a shot (odds of 29).

The New Orleans Saints were so close to win the Super Bowl last year but they couldn’t make it because the Rams eliminated them in overtime in the Conference final. I believe that they have a great shot with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara still there and producing big time on offense. The Carolina Panthers might surprise most of the people this year with improved performance but they are not likely to become more than a playoff team. Atlanta Falcons expect Matt Ryan to finally get over the hump but the new defensive and special teams coordinators give us question marks and we do not know what to expect from them.

The Los Angeles Rams are just behind the Patriots with odds of 8.50. They are expected to make another Super Bowl appearance due to the fact that Sean McVay managed to keep his team in place. The defense continues to be shaky but the offense carries the slack. The San Francisco 49ers will certainly be better than last year if Jimmy Garoppolo stays healthy. They finally have a good running back in the face of Tevin Coleman and I believe that they will certainly make the playoffs. The Seattle Seahawks signed many guys on defense but also many departed and I do not believe that they have what it takes to go through the first playoff round.
