The Southern Jaguars are 8-4 and the team has only 1 win against teams with a winning record. The victory came last week when the Jaguars beat the Grambling Tigers on the road, 30-28. QB Ladarius Skelton finished the game with 181 passing yards and 2 touchdowns while RB Jarod Sims was only asked to carry the ball 7 times but he was very efficient. He had 89 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, being a big factor in the victory.
On the other side, we have Alcorn State who has already beaten the Jaguars. They played 4 weeks ago and the Braves were very dominant, getting the W with a 14-point margin. QB Felix Harper played exceptionally well, throwing for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns while RB De’Shawn Waller added 81 rushing yards on 22 carries. Southern’s QB was also neutralized very well and he had just 114 yards. It is important to note that Alcorn State is an inconsistent team as well and they lost to Grambling 3 weeks ago- the same team that Southern beat recently.
