While San Diego State was battling with injuries throughout the campaign and especially in recent weeks, Ohio won 5 of its last 6 games of the season. They had back to back blowout wins over Akron and Buffalo. This will certainly be a battle an old-school fashioned battle on the ground with both teams possessing good running games. Ohio ranks eighth nationally in rushing, averaging 262 yards per game. A.J. Ouellette has 1142 rushing yards on his resume with 12 touchdowns.
The Aztecs dropped their final three games of the season and four of their last five, including a 31-30 loss to Hawaii in the final game. The offense is relying on the ground game but it hasn’t scored more than 31 points for the whole campaign. The defense is not very respectable and it can allow big runs against a good rushing offense.
