Marshall finished the season with 8 wins and 4 losses and they were second to Middle Tennessee in their conference. They had an abysmal first half against Virginia Tech last time out, trailing 31-6 and eventually losing 41-20. Isaiah Green passed for 220 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the loss and the passing game was subpar. The rushing game was solid with Brenden Knox, running for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
USF lost to South Florida at home in the last one by 28 points. This was their 5th loss in a row and they allowed the whopping 558 yards, including almost 400 rushing yards. This is not a good sign when they will be facing a run-heavy team such as Marshall. QB Blake Barnett missed the last game due to an injury but he is expected to start in this one. Jordan Cronkrite should have a good game, running the football against the Marshall’s leaky run defense.
USF ended the regular season very badly. They are not the team we all expected them to be and the defense is abysmal. I still believe that Marshall can make more stops than them and this will be enough to secure them the victory.
