Betting Prediction:
The 76ers weren’t really competitive in game 1 which they lost by double digits. JJ Reddick was, surprisingly, the team’s leading scorer with 17 points while Joel Embiid added 16. Jimmy Butler was contained by Kawhi Leonard which might be the turning point of this series. Butler struggles to cope with the size of Kawhi while the Raptors’ star defends him very well. Toronto played solid defense as a whole and if this continues, Philly will be done in 4, max in 5.
As we’re speaking about Kawhi, we must mention that he recorded his playoff career-high with 45 points on 16 of 23 shooting while also grabbing 11 rebounds. He played defense mostly against Simmons but at times, he was needed to contain Butler as well. Pascal Siakam is the most improved player on this team and he finished game 1 with 29 points on 12 of 15 shooting from the floor.
The Raptors’ dedicated play on defense is something special this year and I expect them to continue to dominate the 76ers. Embiid, Butler, and Simmons rarely got easy shots all game long and I expect this to continue.
