The Oakland Raiders’ season didn’t start like we expected. Jon Gruden signed a 10-year deal with high hopes in the San Francisco area but he is now 1-3 and he should have been 0-4 if it wasn’t for the referees. The Raiders look solid on defense with Derek Carr running the plays very well. Jordy Nelson is a big boost on the receiver’s end while Marshawn Lynch is back to his good years as a running back. The problems come from the defensive unit which is ranked 31st, allowing 30.8 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup are the Los Angeles Chargers who are 2-2. The Chargers don’t impress as well. For example, they beat a San Francisco team, playing with their backup quarterback by just 2 points. They are very similar to the Raiders in the context that they are very good offensively but they are struggling on defense.
Phillip Rivers has been fantastic this season, throwing for 1156 yards with 11 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. I believe that this will be a shootout once again but the Raider will give them a game and they will cover the spread. Marshawn Lynch will have a lot of space to run to on Sunday afternoon and he will cause them trouble.
