The New England Patriots looked confident in week 1 against the Texans and they will try to improve to 2-0 against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Tom Brady threw for 277 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception on 26 of 39 passing in their first game. Rob Gronkowski looked very energetic and he led the Patriots with 7 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, New England looked very solid until the 4th quarter when they seemed to lose focus.
Jacksonville will also look to build on a season-opening victory. Blake Bortles threw for 176 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 18 of 33 passing. Keenan Cole led the Jaguars’ receiving corps with 54 receiving yards while TJ Yeldon had 14 carries for 51 yards. Defensively, the Jaguars look pretty confident as they shut down Giants’ interesting offense.
Tom Brady seems to have understood how to beat the Jaguars after the comeback win in the playoffs last season. The Patriots’ receivers will benefit from his quick throws and that way they will avoid the pressure the Jags can put on the quarterback. In addition to that, Bortles doesn’t look like the quarterback who can outscore Brady.
