Illinois starts the season with a new head coach who is defensive-minded. We can expect to see more pass rush and elite plays from the corners but I think it is too early for such predictions. Things look good at the receiving end since some good WRs transferred to Illinois in the off-season. Their running game is also solid. For the first time for a lot of time, Illini are injury-free. Only one player has a serious injury and that is the OL Jordyn Slaughter.

I expect Nebraska to be rusty and their head coach is under a lot of pressure. He is coming off three straight losing seasons with the Huskers and his future in the school is at risk. Illinois should have enough defensive skills to make important stops and take the game to Nebraska.
