The Minnesota Vikings are looking to bounce back from last year when they finished 8-7-1, even though they had everything set in place for a successful campaign. Kirk Cousins had a good statistical season but he couldn’t manage to win narrow games and this prevented them from going to the postseason at the end. As a team, Minnesota averaged 345.6 yards of total offense and 22.5 points per game last season while allowing 309.7 yards of total offense and 21.3 points per game last season.
The New Orleans Saints are once again the favorites to win the NFC. Drew Brees looks good in the offense with so many young guys such as Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas who are producing big time. The defense also looks respectable with Cameron Jordan leading the way with 12 sacks last year. On offense, the Saints averaged 31.5 points per game while allowing just 22.1 points per game on defense.
If there is a team that will score in the first drive, it is clearly New Orleans. I expect them to set the tone for the whole game and cover the spread as winners.
