Betting Prediction:
Memphis won two in a row after losing three straight and this could be used as a resume for their season. They haven’t been consistent at all mostly because of their defense but they are ranked 6th in scoring and 5th in rushing. Last time around, they beat Tulsa 47-21 when they racked up nearly 500 total yards, including 297 rushing yards. Henderson is ranked 2nd in the nation in rushing yards and he needs to be performing well in this one if he is to help his team get the W in this one.
SMU was on the road last time and they recorded a big win over UCONN by beating them 62-50. They racked up 594 total yards but they also gave up 583 yards. Their defense struggled against the run big time and I do not see it improving against one of the top running backs in college football. Ben Hicks finished last game with 276 passing yards and a TD.
Both teams have great offenses but the poor SMU’s defense won’t be able to get a touch on Henderson. He is sure to have another monster game on the road and given the fact that Memphis features the better defense, I do not think it will be troubling for them to get the W in this one by more than one touchdown difference.
