Betting Prediction:
Duke heads into this season with a completely different look. They acquired the three best high school players and they will certainly be a threat this season- especially as the season progresses. Zion Williamson is a beast on offense and according to the early predictions by the experts, he will be a top-5 draft pick. Duke also has another great prospect in the face of RJ Barrett who is a phenomenal shooting guard. One of the few guys from last year that are staying with Duke is their big man Marques Bolden who will be a big help in the paint.
The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked 2nd and they are once again with high expectations. They lost their leading scorers to the NBA but they still have Quade Green and PJ Washington. Green had a solid freshman campaign with 9.3 points per game and he will surely build on that. PJ Washington is their leading scorer with 11 points per game. EJ Montgomery is their best recruit, rated with 5 stars.
Even though Kentucky has the experience on its side, I am taking the NBA talent and Duke in this one. I believe that Kentucky will still be a top-5 team in the end, however, they lost so many players on offense and I don’t think that they will be able to keep up with Duke in this one.
