Betting Prediction:
BYU finished 24-11 last season and after losing to Gonzaga they found themselves in the 2018 National Invitation Tournament. They will look to get back into the NCAA tournament but this will not be an easy task. Elijah Bryant left the school and that opened a big hole in their line-up. They were also awful on the road last year and I do not see this changing, especially against Nevada. The Cougars were 161st in the nation in scoring last season with an average of 74.3 points.
Nevada a great season in 2017-18 and they will look to build on that this year. They are loaded with talent this year and I believe that they will have a successful campaign. They were 18th in scoring last season, averaging 82.6 points per game while allowing 73 points. They didn’t lose many of their players to the NBA and they also added the highest ranked recruit in the school history- Jordan Brown. The transfers of Jazz Johnson and Trey Porter add more depth in the squad which will surely be needed as the season progresses.
Caroline and Martins both withdrew from the NBA draft last season to come back and play for Nevada. The Wolf Pack also added talent in their roster that they have never seen so far in their history. A dominating win in front of the home crowd is what I’m predicting.
