Golden State probably has the best talent in the league when at full health. Many people thought they are playing better without KD but we saw in game 1 in this series that this is not the case. Even though Steph Curry finished the game with 34 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Thompson added 21 points on his own, it was visible that Durant’s efficient shooting and length on the wing cannot be easily replaced.
Toronto Raptors, on the other side, exploited the Warriors’ weaknesses very well. Pascal Siakam had a huge game against the smaller Golden State line-up and he might be up for another big game against a squad that doesn’t have many big defenders that can match his size. Marc Gasol also had a big game while Kawhi Leonard finished with 23 points. Even though the whole Raptors’ team shot the ball very well from the floor, the key to the success was their stifling defense.
The Warriors looked lost in game 1. They could’ve stolen the game but the role players couldn’t help much against the great Toronto defense. I believe that Siakam and Gasol will have another big game while the Raptors will again defend Curry and Thompson very well and let the role players do the damage.
