Kansas State had a solid defense last year and they are looking to build on that this season. They return four starters from last year’s squad, including Dean Wade who won the award of Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year. In their previous game, the Wildcats limited Kennesaw State to just 32.7% shooting and 14 second-half points.
The Denver Pioneers, on the other side, return three starters from last year from a team that finished 15-15. Their leading 3-point shooter Joe Rosga is also returning and they will count on him to get the job done against Kansas State. Ronnie Harrell Jr. is coming to Denver after a transfer from Creighton and he had a nice debut, recording 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Kansas State won all of its last 4 meetings against Denver. I am sure that the same will happen on Monday but I am not convinced that this will happen in a blowout fashion. The defense will keep Denver relatively quiet for the most part but the offense will continue to struggle against an experienced side.
