Colorado State opens the season in late October in an away game against Fresno State. Their first game against UNM was postponed and we do not know what to expect from this team. Many of the offensive starlets are all gone now and I expect the Rams to take a step back. Senior QB Patrick O’Brien is one of the people who return. He completed 61.8% of his passes for 2803 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Fresno State is 0-1 after losing to Hawaii in week 1. Junior QB Jake Haener is definitely not someone you’d like to see playing as a QB for your team. He completed 17 of 31 passes in his first game of the season for 289 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. Senior RB Ronnie Rivers will be the go to guy for this offense as his effectiveness is crucial. He has improved his ground game on each of his seasons and he finished with 899 yards and 13 touchdowns last year.
I would side with Colorado State here. They have the more experienced and more capable of winning quarterback. Jake Haener had an abysmal game last week and he does not have that many snaps in college which could prove to be an issue for the whole Bulldogs’ team.
