The Cleveland defense really showed two faces last week. They forced 4 turnovers in the first half of the game against Pittsburgh and they were leading 35-10 at half-time. In the second half, however, the Browns could not really stop anything and they benefited from having a tremendous first half. They used RB Nick Chubb to perfection while QB Baker Mayfield played really well with the lead. He completed 21 out of 34 throws for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Kansas City Chiefs had a bye round last week since they finished atop of the AFC. The Chiefs conceded just two losses and they could’ve easily been 16-0. One of their losses came in week 17 when they played the Chargers with a backup squad while the other one came surprisingly against the Raiders early in the season. Kansas City is 1st in passing yards per game thanks to QB Patrick Mahomes and 6th in points scored, averaging 29.6 per game.
The Cleveland Browns really turned their season around after being dismantled by the Ravens, Steelers, and Raiders earlier this year. Since the Raiders’ loss, they have only conceded two narrow losses. As good as the Chiefs are, their defense is vulnerable and the Browns can put some points on the scoreboard early, control the clock and keep it close till the end.
