Both teams started the season well with two consecutive victories. The Eagles defeated UMass by 51-21 and Holy Cross by 62-14. Their star running back AJ Dillon went for 247 yards on 26 carries and 3 touchdowns last weekend while their quarterback Anthony Brown passed for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Wake Forest started the season rather slowly by escaping with a narrow overtime win over Tulane and then defeated Towson by 51-20. Sam Hartman is completing 62% of his passes which is good for 620 yards, 4 touchdowns, and three interceptions so far. Greg Dortch is their go-to guy on offense and he has a touchdown from 19 catches and 243 yards.
Boston College had the easier schedule in the first two weeks and they got their business done by rolling over UMass and Holy Cross. Wake Forest came out of the gate a little slow but then got things going in game two. This should be a very interesting matchup on Thursday with two solid offenses. However, Hartman’s inconsistency makes me think that Boston College will prevail and cover the spread while we’re also going to see a shootout.
