The Houston Astros will have a game 6 at home, regardless of what happens in game 5 on the road. They finally got their offensive swagger back after lacking it in the first two games of the series. Gerrit Cole gets the starting nod for his fifth postseason start. He is 3-1 in the playoffs with the only loss coming in his last start against Washington. He allowed 5 runs in 7 innings and that was enough for the Nationals to win game 1.
On the other side, the Washington Nationals looked bound to win the World Series after clinching two consecutive victories away from home in the first two games. Since then, however, they have been lacking great pitching. Houston is dominating them but now their best pitcher Max Scherzer returns to action. He gave up just 2 runs in 5 innings on Tuesday and he is now 3-0 in the postseason.
The odds are favoring Houston to win a third consecutive game on the road mainly because Washington’s catcher Kurt Suzuki got injured. I believe that the Nationals have the upper hand in this one because they showed that they can beat Cole away from home and they are desperate for a wing before heading back to Houston.
