Both teams have struggled this season because their quarterbacks are sloppy with the football and committing turnovers. Romine has completed 40 percent of his passes for 1100 yards with 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He went 1-10 in his last game but he got help from his running backs to do the job he wasn’t able to do on offense. Air Force went for 3 touchdowns on the ground and 250 rushing yards.
Chason Virgil is even worse than Romine this year but he looked okay against Utah State when he completed 27 out of 44 passes and went for 205 yards with a touchdown. Fresno State mostly rely on the legs of their kicker Kody Kroening who makes plays wherever on the field he is.
I think this game will be won by whoever quarterback makes less mistakes than the other. I don’t see Romine go for 1-10 again and his backfield duo will help him with their legs in order to win the game. Air Force’s defense is ranked 24th in the country and they will be able to stop Fresno State’s offense early and won’t let them get to field goal range.
