Weber State is 11-3 and 1st in the Big Sky Conference. They are coming off a very important 17-10 home win over Montana. They rallied 14-3 in the second half, in order to secure the victory behind some key plays from their QB. Even though he finished the game with just 70 passing yards, a touchdown and below 50% passing completions, he was able to move the chains late with some smart plays. The defense was also very good and it probably played the biggest part in the W.
On the other side, we have the James Madison Dukes. They look like the real threat to North Dakota State‘s title hopes this year and I believe that they actually have a good chance. In a game where we thought that they will have to play their butts off, in order to win last week, they shut down the Northern Iowa Panthers, 17-0. QB Ben DiNucci finished the game with 157 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception while RB Percy Agyei-Obese controlled the clock very well with his 33 carries for 124 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Both defenses look very good but Weber State’s inability to score points scares me. I do not think that James Madison will score that many but they will certainly control the clock like they did last week and they will discourage their opponents early.
