Villanova is 8-3 and it is coming off a narrow 78-75 loss to Pennsylvania. The team trailed for the most part and the players weren’t able to connect from long range, making them one dimensional. Collin Gilespie scored 21 points in the defeat while Phil Booth added another 18. The Wildcats are averaging 116 points per 100 possessions, despite chewing up the clock on every possession. On defense, the team is allowing 97.2 points per 100 possessions.
Kansas is still undefeated but the Jayhawks nearly got upset against New Mexico State. They were able to escape with a 63-60 win but we weren’t impressed at all from what we’ve seen. Udoka Azubuike will certainly miss this one and that leaves a big hole in the paint. The team is ranked 2nd in the country and it is scoring 117 points per 100 possessions while allowing 90.5 points per 100 possessions.
Villanova didn’t shoot the ball well in the previous game and I expect them to bounce back in this one. I cannot see them winning it, however, I believe that they won’t lose by more than 7.
