UL Lafayette started the season with a loss to Texas, 38-18, but they went on to beat each of their next 5 opponents. Last week, their win over Appalachian State was really impressive as they beat the Mountaineers 41-13 and we can fairly say that Appalachian State is a decent team this year. In this particular game, RB Montrell Jackson had a solid outing with 103 rushing yards and a TD on 14 carries. The Ragin’ Cajuns had trouble passing the ball but this is their weak spot all year.
Arkansas State is 1-5 after winning their first game of the season but then they lost all of their next 5 games. Last week, they had a tough break against Coastal Carolina where they lost 52-20.
