UCF has struggled all year with its defense that is allowing 31.4 points per game. The only thing we can give them credit for is the offense that can overcome the defense’s weaknesses most of the time. This is not the case, however, when they face good defenses that can at least neutralize to some extent UCF offense. QB Dillon Gabriel is completing 61.7% of his passes for 3353 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.
BYU is ranked 16th in the country with just a single loss that they conceded against Coastal Carolina about 2 weeks ago. I would say that the Cougars have an even better offense than UCF. Both the passing and the rushing game are doing well while the defense is also on another level, allowing just 14.6 points per game. Their only loss that we mentioned came against a team that has an elite defense and kept the Cougars to just 17 points.
UCF clearly does not have the talent to neutralize BYU’s offense. I expect the Cougars to get their points easily and make enough key stops on defense so that they can win the game and cover the spread.
