Temple is 3-1 on the year, having a solid win on its resume against Maryland. Their only loss came against the great Buffalo offense in week 3. QB Anthony Russo is having an up and down campaign. He has thrown for over 1000 yards so far in the season but he also has 10 touchdowns and 6 picks. The Temple’s offensive line is not doing a great job protecting him and much trouble comes out of it.
The East Carolina Pirates are 3-2 on the season, having losses against the great Navy side and NC State. The team has trouble putting points on the board against good defenses. QB Holton Ahlers has completed 54% of his passes for 913 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. The Pirates have 3 running backs able to make key plays and I expect East Carolina to rely on them mostly in this one.
Anthony Russo is a decent QB and he will clearly have a better Thursday. His mistakes came against much better sides than the ones the Pirates have faced and I expect him to contribute in a big way in this one.
