Betting Prediction:
Temple was just sensational on defense against Cincinnati when they kept them to just 13 points and 186 yards. Jahad Thomas made lots of problems for Cincinnati’s defense, running for 151 yards while Philip Walker threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Temple averages 34 points per game and we may see Walker throw the ball more on Friday because UConn has been unable stop any offensive plays through the air.
UConn are one of the worst offensive teams in the nation, ranked 106th in yards per game and averaging only 18 points per game. Temple has already contained some high-powered offenses already this year and UConn will be unable to move the chains on third downs. Bryan Shirreffs is doing everything he can, throwing for 7 touchdowns and rushing for 2, in order UConn to perform better but he is the only one on offense responsible for the good performances.
I predict UConn to be very ineffective on offense and unable to stop the passing game and this will result in a blowout loss.
