The Southern Jaguars have a very interesting season so far. They are 7-4 and their season is full of inconsistency. They managed to beat some really good teams earlier this year and they also lost to or at least have difficulties against smaller sides. This was also the case last week when they beat Jackson State 40-34. QB Luke Skelton played really well, finishing with 133 passing yards, 171 rushing yards, 1 passing touchdown, 3 rushing touchdowns, and 1 pick. He is the main reason for their wins while the defense is often the reason for their losses.

The Grambling Tigers, on the other side, are 6-4, following an 0-4 start. They played some very tough opponents at the beginning of the season but they have been since then. It is true to say that there are only 2 teams with winning records that they won against. One of those games was against Alcorn State 2 weeks ago when the game finished 19-16. QB Geremy Hickbottom finished with 157 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception while RB Kevin Dominique added 69 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Grambling is the team that impresses more in recent weeks. That is mainly because of the oppositions they faced. I know that Southern University may not be better than them but they have a special player that the Grambling Tigers don’t and that is Luke Skelton. If he does what he does best for another week, they are destined to win this one.
