South Dakota State is 10-3 overall and 5-1 on the road. Last time out, the Jackrabbits beat Sacramento State 24-19 in a game where they led 24-3 after the first half. Things did not quite go to plan in the second half and the Jackrabbits basically survived there. Their rushing game is what kept them in the game and sealed the victory. QB Chris Oladokun finished with just 12 out of 23 completed passes for 158 yards.
Villanova is 10-2 and one of its losses actually came against the 6th ranked Penn State in week 4. Since then, they have lost just 1 game and even beat James Madison– a school that is one of the main favorites won it all this year. The Wildcats have an amazing defense that is capable of stopping everybody. The offense is not as explosive as the Wildcats’ fans would’ve liked, but it still gets enough points to secure victories.
South Dakota State is the favorite here but I doubt that the Jackrabbits can win by more than a TD. Villanova’s defense is great and it will stop the ground game. We saw how vulnerable South Dakota State is when this happened last week and they almost lost the game.
