The South Alabama Jaguars continue to fall and they are now 1-5 on the year. They are coming off a loss against Georgia Southern where the running game could not get going. QB Cephus Johnson is completing 53.6% of his passes for 708 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. The team, however, is mostly relying on the run. Tra Minter is the leading rusher with 477 rushing yards so far and 2 touchdowns.
The Troy Trojans, on the other side, are 2-3 but they conceded two consecutive tough losses in games where they allowed an average of 46 points. Last time out when they faced Missouri, QB Kaleb Barker finished with 2 interceptions while RB Trevon Woolfolk had just 62 yards on the ground on 18 carries. The Trojans are a solid group and I expect them to bounce back. Barker was only able to score 10 points in the last outing and that is why I believe that they will have a much better game this time around. Troy shouldn’t face any difficulties overcoming the spread.
