The Stallions are 0-1 and things don’t look good for them this week as well. Their starting QB Josh Woodrum suffered an injury and Matt Linehan will have to take his place. The running game was missing and if they are to compete for anything, they will have to do a better job on the ground. Running back Branden Oliver had eight carries for 40 yards and Joel Bouagnon 16 for 39.
The Birmingham Iron, on the other hand, shut down their opponents 26-0. They were dominant on defense and didn’t allow much to happen in their own territory. They had a great fourth quarter when they scored 17 unanswered points. Luis Perez had a great game throwing the football, completing 19 of 33 passes for 252 yards.
The Stallions will be playing with a backup quarterback and having in mind that they struggled with their starting one last week, I can’t envisage them to get anything from this game against a squad with a fierce defense. The Iron should be able to improve to 2-0 with ease.
