The Rainbow Warriors started the campaign with 2-0 after their first two games but the things don’t look this good for the Owls who are 1-1. Hawaii were massive underdogs in their home game against Navy but their sophomore quarterback Cole McDonald threw 41 passes and completing 30 of them. He did not have any interceptions, although he had a fumble.
Rice had no chance of beating Houston and that resulted in a 45-27 defeat. They were dominated for the most part which included 28-3 in the second half. The Cougars were able to rack up 577 total yards on offense against the leaky Owls defense. The Owls, on the other side, can be happy with their offensive performance, being able to tally up 439 total yards.
Hawaii is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring more than 40 points in the prior contest and over is 10-1 in their last 11 non-conference games. There are too many question marks for Rice and having in mind that they will be playing away from home against a highly favored side that just beat Navy, I do not think that they will be able to cover the spread.
