Match: Real Madrid vs. Sevilla Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Tuesday, 09 August, 2016
Start time: 19:45 UK
Real Madrid and Sevilla will play in Trondheim, Norway at “Lerkendal Stadion” for UEFA Super Cup.
Real Madrid prepares for the new season with 3 matches with the prestige friendly tournament – International Champions Cup. In their first game they lost 3:1 from PSG but after that, they won both matches that left in the tournament: 3:2 against Chelsea and 1:0 against Bayern München.
Sevilla played six friendly games and won all of them. They beat the teams: River Plate (1:3), Santa Fe (2:1), Sandhausen (1:2), Mainz 05 (0:1), St. Pauli (1:2) and Granada (0:2). The new coach Jorge Sampaoli seems to do a good job and will have the chance to win his first trophy with the team.
The biggest miss for Real Madrid will be the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo who is injured and will be available in September. Despite that, they show that they can win without him in friendlies but the match against Sevilla will be the real test what to expect from Real without Ronaldo. Sevilla are the kings in Europa League but they lost the last two finals for UEFA Super Cup exactly from Real Madrid in 2014 with 2:0 and from Barcelona in 2015 after extra time with 5:4. Sevilla are the more prepared team but Real Madrid had more class so I expect a draw and extra time to define the winner.
