Purdue recorded 25 wins and 9 losses this year. The team surprised some of the pundits with their dominant play and win over Villanova in the previous round. Carsen Edwards had a sensational game against them when he scored 42 points and also got 6 rebounds while Matt Haarms helped him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. The team has an advantage in size and they are better rebounders than the Volunteers.
Tennessee, on the other side, are 31-5 on the season. They haven’t played as good as we thought they would play in the first two rounds. They had trouble against the small Colgate school and beat them by just 7 points before getting the victory over Iowa by 5 points. Admiral Schofield, who is one of the best players in college and a true scorer, helped his team with 19 points in the win.
Even though Purdue got away with an 87-61 victory over Villanova, I don’t believe that they are capable of another such performance. It is high time the Volunteers started living up to the expectations and I think this is a great moment for Schofield to turn this game into a nightmare for the opposition.
