Match: Paris Saint-Germain – Lyon Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: February 10, Wednesday, 2016
Start time: 20:05 GMT
Paris Saint-Germain will seek to record another victory in their home game against Olympique Lyon. The two teams face each other in the Cup of France and it remains to see who will reach the quarterfinals of the competition.
PSG were the dominant force in French football and, as things stand now, they will defend their title in Ligue 1 without any difficulty. Parisians beat Marseille 2:1 over the weekend and have an advance of 24 points ahead of second-placed Monaco. The club from the capital is in an impressive series – 16 consecutive wins in all competitions and it is not surprising that are favorites on paper to win and Lyon.
In recent years, Parisians turned Parc des Princes in a fortress, but they will have to show a good game if they want to deal with Lyon as “The Kids” are in good shape.
Marco Verratti and Gregory van der Wiel are out for the upcoming match due to injury, but coach Laurent Blanc has no other problems before the derby against Lyon.
Olympique Lyon are in great shape since they moved to their new stadium. After the success with 3:0 over Bordeaux, “The Kids” did and Angers at the weekend. However, they will have a very difficult game on Wednesday against PSG and must be faultless if they want to reach the quarterfinals in the Cup.
In their last eight away games Lyon have five losses, which does not say much good about their game away from home. Their last victory at the Parc des Princes was in 2012 and they certainly want history to repeat itself.
Alexandre Lacazette not leave the club during the January transfer window and all eyes will be focused on it.
Rafael Fofana and Fekir suffer from injuries, so it will not be available to coach the team Bruno Génésio for trip to Paris.
PSG are much better than Lyon at the moment, but the hosts will have to prove it on the field if they are to qualify for the quarterfinals. Laurent Blanc will almost certainly start with a very strong starting XI as he loves his team to play at a level in big games. Paris Saint-Germain broke record after record in France this season and I believe we will achieve another victory expecting to take advance before the break.
