The Carolina Panthers are 6-1 with Kyle Allen under center and it is really odd that they are considering starting Cam Newton in this one. The team got demolished by the 49ers two weeks ago when the Panthers lost 51-13 but then bounced back and beat the Tennessee Titans, 30-20. Allen is completing 61% of his throws for 1291 yards, 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while RB Christian McCaffrey is one of the MVP candidates, making this offense go every time he steps onto the field.
On the other side we have the Green Bay Packers who are 7-2 this year and they are just coming off a surprising defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Packers could not stop the run at all and Melvin Gordon finished with 2 touchdowns and 80 yards while Austin Ekeler added another 70 on the ground. Philipp Rivers completed 21 out of his 28 passing attempts for 294 yards.
The Packers had lots of question marks last Sunday and the Panthers can certainly take advantage of that. Green Bay hasn’t beaten any top teams except for the Chiefs who were without their starting QB, left tackle and best defensive linemen. Carolina has all that it takes to cover the spread and score some points.
