The Green Bay Packers lost their number one receiver during the offseason – Davante Adams. Instead, they got WR Sammy Watkins who had a supporting role in Kansas City and Baltimore. Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones are expected to continue to deliver on offense. There are also high hopes for Allen Lazard who was promising last year. The defense continues to be respectable as it was ranked ninth in total defense last season.
The Minnesota Vikings are another potential playoff contender with a big upside. The Vikings struggled on defense last year, and this cost them a better record. Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith are back, but the main hopes for the Minnesota fans are on offense. Kirk Cousins might not be spectacular, but he is doing damage when needed and does not make many mistakes. WR Justin Jefferson and WR Adam Thielen are amazing while RB Dalvin Cook gives them depth and more variety on offense.
This is a classic week 1 opener. Minnesota is 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 home games. They also won 6 of the last 10 games against the Packers. I don’t think Green Bay has the answers for this great Minnesota offense.
